David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
