The Prince of Wales Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in Brazil

The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as confirmed by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday evening at a gathering preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

Father and son were participating in the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a environmental conference preliminary meeting organized in partnership with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Commitment

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of protecting nature - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be held in Brazil ahead of the COP summit.

Official representatives have described William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as assuming an significant responsibility in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were introduced to guests including environmentalists, researchers, environmental activists, foreign representatives and politicians.

This engagement included speaking together with French leader Macron of France and other world leaders at the Marine Economy Conference in Monaco in recent months.

Earthshot Awards Connection

The climate conference will dovetail with the prince's own Earthshot environmental awards, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the previous day he participates in the climate conference on November 6th.
