Trevoh Chalobah Set to Take Over from Marc Guehi in England Selection
Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the twenty-first pair of brothers to earn caps for the England side.
The Chelsea defender is set to join up with the England squad to fill in for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to join the squad for England's last World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has yet to be officially announced.
The national side have already qualified for the upcoming tournament.
Chalobah earned his initial invitation under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.
In September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out from the selection for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and also didn't call him up for the subsequent October matches.
Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having awarded him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.
Chalobah has played in all but four matches for Chelsea this season, with the club in third place in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the group stage of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are expected to be other inclusions to the team. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the national team.
